Introducing
A quintessentially British sporting event, the Henley Royal Regatta! Whether you are a boat-racing enthusiast or simply there to revel in the atmosphere, the week-long event of over 300 races are a great day out!
Running from the 28th of June to the 3rd of July, we have created a guide to the event, so dust off your preppiest, stripe blazer and boat shoes and make the most out of Henley 2022!
The 6-day event attracts rowers from all over the world to compete in over 300 races! From amateur oarsmen to professional teams, they all partake along the 1-mile course whilst spectators support from the sidelines.
Since it's inception in 1839, the Henley Royal Regatta has always enforced a dress code, which applies to all attendees across all enclosures. However in recent years it has relaxed. Let us take you through each enclosure and our recommendations!
The Stewards Enclosure is situated at a great vantage point, just opposite the finish line, so attendees experience the true competitive atmosphere! The enclosure is available for members only and guests of members.
The dress code is as follows for gentlemen:
Lounge suits or jackets/blazers with full length trousers.
A tie or a cravat.
Hats are encouraged!

Situated slightly further downstream, is the Regatta Enclosure, which is open to the general public. It is perfect for families with small children and features a riverside seating area, as well as a bandstand. It holds a more informal and relaxed atmosphere for attendees and as a result, the dress code follows.
The dress code is as follows for gentlemen:
Lounge suits or jackets/blazers with full length trousers.
A tie or cravat.
All are encouraged to sport team blazers and quinessential rowing apparel!

As per each enclosure, there are a variety of vendors providing nibbles, tipples, afternoon tea and multiple course fine-dining experiences.
The Stewards Enclosure
Mile & 1/8th restaurant is the restaurant of choice for the ultimate Henley experience. Located within sight of the river, you can overlook the races for breakfast, a 3-course lunch and an afternoon strawberry cream-tea. All complete with the finest champagne and wine! Bookings are mandatory so call 01491 57190 to make your reservation.
